About the product
Stainless steel screws are used to attach the bottom of the birdhouse so it can be removed every year to clean out before the spring. The stainless steel hardware will help prevent any discoloration of the wood, which often happens when it comes in contact with metal.
Care of Birdhouse
Clean out the inside every year to invite new inhabitants. Every couple years, renew the finish by using 220-grit sandpaper to rough up the finish and then apply two coats of an oil-based spar varnish. Or the finish can be left to weather on its own.
