About Rancho Gordo
It’s no secret that I’m a bean fanatic. I love beans more than mere words can express. Rancho Gordo is one of my most favorite companies, combining their love of beans with a sincere integrity for agriculture and preserving heirloom seeds, they’re defiantly the guys to root for. A company that you can trust entirely—everything they do is amazing. Who has a foodie crush on Steve Sando? Maybe me.
THE RANCHO GORDO-XOXOC PROJECT
These beans are the results of two companies working together to help small farmers continue to grow their indigenous beans in Mexico, despite international trade policies that seem to discourage genetic diversity and local food traditions. These rare beans are grown using centuries-old methods and may contain small pebbles or other natural debris. Please clean them thoroughly before cooking!
You can use these beans any time a recipe calls for runner beans but we suggest tossing them in a salad with some fruity olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice for a nice summer salad.
