While the Nicodemi Estate, nestled in the hills of the Teramo district of Abruzzo, was founded by Bruno Nicodemi, it’s currently run by the sibling duo team Alessandro and Elena Nicodemi. At more than 900 feet above the Adriatic Sea, the grapes bake slowly in the sun but have plenty of time to cool in the evening. The combination of their by-hand harvesting, the 40 year old vines and the grapes aged in 100% new oak barrels, these are wines that will only better with age.


We like this 2008 Nicodemi Montepulciano Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo with light pasta salads filled with chopped roasted chicken, feta cheese, an array of cherry tomatoes and english peas.
