New 2009 Marisa Cuomo Costa d'Amalfi Rosato from Campania

This 2009 Marisa Cuomo Costa d'Amalfi Rosato from Campania is just amazing. It's slightly sweet, with hints of passionfruit and cantaloupe, but its got a nice tart strawberry finish. Because of the complexity of its flavors we suggest drinking it a little warmer than most rosati. This is one of those wines that you might want to stock up on, it's quite easy to go through 3 or 4 glasses on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Founded and managed by Marisa Cuomo and her husband, winemaker Andrea Ferraioli, Costa d'Amalfi is located in a small province of Campania called Salerno. They focus the brunt of their wine production around three major DOCs: Furore, Ravello, and Tramonti. These DOCs are the home to amazing red varietals including the likes of Ginestra, Fenile, Aglianico and Piedirosso. But that's not to say that their white blends which feature Falanghina and Biancolella are not celebrated. In fact, her most revered white wine is a Furore Bianco named Fiorduva, a careful blend of Fenile, Ginestra and Ripoli fermented in barrique barrels before set to age.

We like this 2009 Marisa Cuomo Costa d'Amalfi with prosciutto wrapped asparagus, prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe, pretty much prosciutto wrapped anything.
