It's actually a fuller bodied white but doesn't have the buttery quality you might expect. It's the perfect with raw fish, Hamachi Crudo for instance.
Size: 750ml
Region: Piedmont
Grapes: Cortese
While it was founded by Bruno Broglia, The Broglia Winery is now managed by his sons Gian Piero and Paolo. Now, 63 of the La Meirana vineyard's 100 hectares are dedicated to the Cortese vine, producing some of the best that the Gavi D.O.C.G has to offer. The grapes are plucked by hand and spend as much as 8 months refining in steel barrels before they are bottled, leaving the wine with the nice mineral quality that so many awards have noted.
This 2009 Broglia Gavi "La Meirana" is a super versatile cheese wine. We're talking soft and stinky to aged gouda and sharp cheddars.
