Varietal: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio
Region: Sicily
Size: 750ml
Michele Faro started Pietradolce in an attempt to revive the wine world’s passion for the Nerello Mascalese grape that was once so revered and enjoyed. Anchored on the northern facing slopes of the Mount Etna Volcano around 2,000 feet above sea level, these grapes grow on a humble 7 acres of lava rock soil, producing some of the most elegant yet complex wines known to Italy.
We like this 2008 Pietradolce Etna Rossa with a fresh maltagliati pasta filled with oxtail and mushroom ragu.
