Located in the heart of Montefalco in Umbria, Perticaia winery is certainly the place to find a modern Sagrantino. Though the dry grape (commonly used in passito and perfect for the harsh cold climates of Umbria) hadn’t made it to the general wine drinking public for a long while. Fortunately, Perticaia has changed all of that with their Sagrantino di Montefalco, which has won Italy's highest wine honor, the "Tre Bicchieri," for years running.


We suggest you try this 2008 Perticaia Trebbiano Spoletino along side a nice ahi tuna salad shaved with pecorino cheese and a little citrus (we like satsumas).
