2008 Manincor Moscato Giallo White Wine from Alto Adige

This 2008 Manincor Moscato Giallo White Wine from Alto Adige adds a medium dose of acid and nutmeg to the normal grapefruit and tropical sweetness of Moscato. It's full fruited and succulent while not being overly sweet.

Built by Hieronymus Manincor in 1608 after the emperor had endowed him for his services to Austria, it wasn’t until Count Michael Goess-Enzenberg took over Manincor from his uncle in 1991 that the winery became the production machine it is today. First, they reduced the yield per vine in order to ensure top quality for all of their grapes, then, in 1996, they finally built their own cellar where they could carefully monitor the crushing. With around 50 hectares of vineyard, Manincor boasts the largest wine estate in South Tyrol and still remains under family operation.

We like this 2008 Manincor Moscato Giallo with a mango and citrus vinaigrette salad or along with fresh fruit and yogurt.
