Frères Grosjean is a family run operation based in the tiny North Italian village of Quart in the Valle d’Aosta region. What makes this region so unique -besides the fact that it is the highest elevation in Italy- is that it borders France, Switzerland and Piedmont. While it isn’t responsible for producing a wide variety of grapes, the ones that it does produce are actually pretty esoteric and manages to have the flexibility to work with a variety of different cuisines.

And to make things more confusing, on top of the use of the three neighboring languages on their wine bottles, Valle d’Aosta often implements their own nomenclature for common grapes like nebbiolo –which they call Picotendro.
