New 2008 Graci Etna Rosso Quota 600 Red Wine from Sicily

This 2008 Graci Etna Rosso "Quota 600" is very floral on the nose for Nerello with a hint of eucalyptus and cigar. The fruit is bright cherry, green herbs, leather and dried tobacco leaves. This red wine spent a relatively long time in barrique, gives this a much more New World finish.

Size: 750ml

Region: Sicily

Grapes: Nerello Mascalese

With three vineyards to the estates name, Graci is afforded the option to spread their grapes across an array of climates, yielding sometimes radically different wines all from each region. Their aging process forgoes the classic barrique barrels, commonly used in many Italian wines, and instead relies on well-seasoned large, vertical, wooden barrels.

We like this 2008 Graci Etna Rosso "Quota 600" with spicy leafy greens, cod or other white fish with a creamier sauce.
