With 190 hectares floating above the heart of the Cesanese del Piglio DOC, Corte dei Papi can trace its vines' roots back to the early 1700s. Their 2008 Cesanese del Piglio -made from Cesanese di Affile grapes -is actually the first DOCG in the Lazio region. Their ultimate goal is to maintain the 100 year old traditions of winemaking while refining them with the subtle touch of modern technique.


We like this 2008 Corte dei Papi Cesanese del Piglio "Colle Ticchio" with Creamy, buttery goat cheese or something like a strawberry walnut and watercress salad.
