2007 Tedeschi Valpolicella Red Wine from Veneto


This 2007 Tedeschi Valpolicella Red Wine from Veneto is definitely a darker fruited Valpolicella due to a higher percentage of Molinara grape. It's a highly tannic, medium bodied dried fruit wine with notes of cumin and leather. It's not so subtle, so be prepared.

Since it was founded back in 1824 by Nicolo Tedeschi, four generations of the Tedeschi name have handled the family winery. Today, Renzo and his four children work together to manage the 67 hectares of the Valpolicella Classico region. Their land is filled with a combination of soil from limestone and basalt to clay and volcanic at around 250 meters above sea level.


We like this 2007 Tedeschi Valpolicella with roast pork, tomato sauces or blue cheeses.
