This 2007 Pira and Figli Dolcetto from Piedmont is pretty much like drinking a strawberry tart. You might detect an undertone of wild blackberries in there too, but we really support the tart metaphor.

After taking over the reins of Pira and Figli in 1990, Chiara Boschis was determined to give the rich power of Barolo a more approachable and elegant edge. Running this small operation in Langhe at just about 2.5 hectares of vineyards in Connubi, they only produce around 12,000 bottles per year and ensure that each grape they plucked lives up to the standards and philosophies of the company.
