2006 Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Red Wine from Tuscany

If you're the type who like just a traditional chianti, this 2006 Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Red Wine from Tuscany is going to blow your proverbial socks off. It's got the extremely well balanced quality of most chiantis, but it's refined in a certain way that brings out an outstanding selection of strong flavors like a dried cherry on the palate and tart plum on the nose. Enjoy it with a lean cut of beef and selection of charred veges.

Nestled in the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, in the province of Siena, Castello di Ama has been home to four major families from Rome for 40 years. Perched at around 500 meters, it finds itself in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone with 90 of its 250 hectares dedicated to vines. Wine operations were taken over by 2003’s Oenologist of the Year, Marco Pallanti, in 1982. After a series of studies he concluded and defined the most beneficial areas of the region to grow particular varietals, a feat not often accomplished in his time.

This 2006 Castello di Ama Chianti Classico is the perfect wine for a boys night. We're talking balsamic glazed hanger steaks with cipolini onions and a side of big fat steak fries.
