2006 Accordini Amarone della Valpolicella Acinatico Red Wine Veneto

This 2006 Accordini Amarone della Valpolicella "Acinatico" from Veneto is a lighter bodied red wine with a silky smoothness. You can expect fall spiced prunes and rich vanilla. It's amazing with wild game and dark chocolate. An excellent, well-balanced Amarone.

Managed by Stefano and his wife Giuseppina along with their two sons, Tiziano and Daniele, the Accordini Estate spans over 4 hectares of in Negrar, the heart of Valpolicella. Thanks to their southern-east exposure and their impeccably nutrient rich soil, the land the estate sits on has been sought after by many for years. With three different varietals - Corvine, Rondinelle and Corvinone -Stefano ensures that every grape is high quality and well adjusted to the seasons climates. One of this families claim to fame is their ability to wither or sun dry grapes to achieve the effect that yields some of Italy's best Amarones.

We like this 2006 Accordini Amarone della Valpolicella Acinatico with duck and a cherry glaze or dark chocolate for dessert.
