This red wine has a significant amount of French oak on the end, but it's elegant all the way through its lasting finish. Could be cellared for another 5-7 years if you can manage to keep your hands off of it for that long.
Size: 750ml
Region: Tuscany
Grapes: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon
In a small town along the Tuscan coast, the Ghizzano Estate was founded in 1370 by the Venerosi Pesciolini family. Though they only produce small quantities of wine -only 20 of their 350 hectares are dedicated to vineyards -what they do produce is truly magnificent. While they started converting to organic farming in 2003 it wasn't until 2008 that they became certified by Soil and Health.
We like this 2005 Tenuta di Ghizzano "Venerosa" with fried chicken or sushi grade tuna.
