2004 Colombini Orcia Cenerentola Red Wine from Tuscany

This 2004 Colombini Orcia Cenerentola Red Wine from Tuscany is a filled with notes of dark cherry, cassis and tobacco. It's highly tannic and could be enjoyed now with big slab of Tuscan beef or cellared for a few years to tame it's structure a bit.

The Donatella Cinelli Colombini Winery is comprised of two different estates in both the Trenquanda and Montacino regions of Tuscany. The first, Fattoria del Colle, was built in 1952 and presided over the Chianti and Orcia DOCs with more than 23 hectares of land. Then there is Casato Prime Donne, which served as a hunting lodge to the Colombini family in the 16th century before it was passed down the ancestral line to Donatella. This is the first winery in Italy to be run solely by women and has continued to be considered by many in the Tuscany region among Italy's most notable Brunellos.

We like this 2004 Colombini Orcia Cenerentola with a thick cut Florentine steak or a hearty cigar.
