Dr. Herman Gretsch's design made history.  It must be said that when Arzberg launched the original in 1931, the word design did not exist either as a term or a concept.  Yet his design became the template for Arzberg's philosophy of "good design" and sealed Arzberg's reputation as a design brand.  To this day, its simple and pratical form is still captivating.  Form 1382 is a consummate marriage of aesthetics and function, "something good which is immune to the changing moods of fashion," as it was described back in 1931.
