Summer has finally arrived. Not the summer I grew up with. (100 degree heat and 80% humidity that makes it impossible to do anything but sweat.) L.A. summer. SoCal summer. Venice beach, volleyball, bikinis, sunglasses, palm trees, top down, and “I Love L.A.” playing in the background. Yes! This is the reason we pay so much to live here!
Now normally when you think summer and alcohol, you probably picture an icy cold beer, margaritas, or maybe even Sangria. All of these are fine, well, better than fine. They are great. But I’m the Wine Dude. I can’t go around recommending Sangria all the time. I’ll lose my “cork cred.” (street cred for wine people)
So give a try to the wines below on a hot summer day. You might be surprised at how refreshing they can be. Also, you can impress your friends with a little air of sophistication to go along with those amazing fish tacos you’re making.

Rosso del Soprano Light bodied, bright cherry fruit with notes of pepper, leather, and a smoky finish.

Buscareto Verdicchio Every person who tries this wine loves. Its medium bodied with a slight melon sweetness that balances out the normal coastal qualities of Verdicchio and finishes with a decent amount of acidity.
